The "mini corn" you're referring to is just baby corn, harvested young and usually from a specific type of corn that doesn't grow all that big as it is. The only real difference between baby corn and normal sized corn is the amount of time it was allowed to grow before harvesting.

They will create more waste when there are more fillers in their food. For instance, If you see "Chicken By-Parts" that means they're grinding up claws, beaks, bonesm etc. While this does not hurt your dog, it's also not giving them any nutrition. Also, corn has almost no nutritional value. If one of the top three ingredients in your dog food is 'corn', you may want to consider changing it. The corn kernel is the dried seed flesh from a corn plant so the kernels are dried on the cob and go hard. To turn it into popcorn however, because there is a small amount of water in the kernel, after getting very hot it expands and turns the kernel I side out o it is a mini corn explosion.
