Many people and most cultures and religions across the world consider murder bad. (willfully taking someone's life). A few would say that murder is good but these views are generally not accepted widely by society and in general.
A hundred different people can give you hundred different reasons why murder is bad. The reason can be logical, emotional, religious etc. etc.
People may also consider exceptions when murder is justified: war, self-defense, greater good, capital punishment, etc. All are very controversial.
Society punishes murder through law and enforcement. It does not concern itself why murder is bad or how morality is different for every individual.
