My son has ADHD and he uses Delsym with no adverse affects. It does not interrupt his sleep either.
My son was on concerta he was taking 38mg it worked for him but he has ADD. The more they take is a very bad thing. I would take sugar out of there diet and red #40 food coloring out and go to health food store and get Attention and give it to them 3 times a day over the summer and see how they do. Doctors just want to drug them and you lose your kids. If you need me I"m here for any one I have done my homework!
yes it does in a way, the medication is used for treating ADHD. it works by balancing the hormone levels. it isn't a change that will be visual it is a mental change. it helps the glucose in your sons system go equaly to every part of his brain. there are many side affects with concerta XL but they aren't severe. i know this because i am a 16 year old young man with ADHD and i was on medication from the age of 6 to 14 then i came off of it and the change in my behaviour and daily routine was dramatic, i went through school and i barely finished, i was not on medication the whole way through year 9 to year 11 and in that time i got expelled out of 4 schools. in my own views on your son taking concerta XL i think it will be the better decision and i think it will help your son not only now but in the future as well. i am now 16 and i have made it in to college i am already a fully qualified mechanic and i am now at this time taking 98mg of concerta XL and my life is so much better since i started taking medication your son will be fine on this medication it will be for the better of him your's sincerly Charles berry
My Son has tourettes and tics, but both have been very minimal in the past few years. He feels he needs something to help his ADHD so his Neurologist (World Renoun) has prescribed 18mg of Concerta. I'm confused, as the warnings specify "not to be used with patients having touretts & tics.
This question is very hard to answer. Is he already taking an ADHD medication? If not, the doctor will choose one, probably a stimulant to start with. It will probably be a Ritalin or Concerta. Concerta is the same thing as Ritalin except it comes in a special shell that slowly releases the medicine inside over the course of about ten hours or so. First, however, your son has to have his medical history reviewed and, possibly, some heart testing done. These medicines are very safe, but they do carry risks of cardiac side effects when taken by people that are already at risk for such problems. If that doesn't work well enough, the physican will probably upgrade his medication to Adderall. I can't answer questions about Straterra for you. I do know its not as effective as stimulant medications such as Ritalin, Concerta or Adderall. As a disclaimer, I'm not a doctor or a nurse. I just have an interest in ADHD. I encourage you to seek more information about ADHD and its treatment options through the internet and from your doctor. Here is a good place to get started: http://www.drugs.com/mtm/ritalin.html

If your son has ADHD that only thing that could really be adding to his hyper activity is sugar and caffeine. It is recommended to remove these from a child's diet who has ADHD.
I think u can
I would not recommend this combination, since it does have an increased risk of hypertensive effects. However, it is possible that a low dosage of each would be prescribed to treat different symptoms (social phobia / ADHD). I have never seen this combination prescribed before though.
No; excessive lying is not associated with either ADHD nor austism.
