Nico's name is Italian for 'Angels', which hints at his role as Hades son because angels are spirits of those who have died.
Nico is the son of Hades and Maria Di Angelo, younger brother to Bianca Di Angelo, and a later friend and ally to Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood.
Much of his past life and his sister's past life are unknown.
Nico was born before World War II, so Hades never broke the oath that was made among the Big Three gods to never have any demigods again. (For more info on this oath, see related links)
Nico is a little over 70 year's old, but although he appears to be about 12 years old by the end of The Last Olympian. Nico and his sister both lived in Washington DC.
When Nico was nine years old (his sister was ten) they were brought to the Lotus Hotel and Casino by Alecto, a Fury, who was disguised as a lawyer to protect them because their mother had died after Zeus had struck the hotel Nico and his family were staying at. Zeus had been trying to kill Nico and Bianca, but had ended up killing their mother instead.
After Nico's mother had died, Hades put a curse on the Oracle of Delphi because she had kept telling him that he had needed to give his kids to Zeus because she knew their future. Hades then erased all of Nico and Bianca's memories so they forgot who they were in the River Lethe.
Nico and his sister stayed in the Lotus Hotel and Casino for about 70 years. (To see more on The Lotus Hotel and Casino please see the related links) Because time slows in the Lotus Hotel, it appeared for them to be only staying a couple months. After those 70 years they were brought out by Alecto, the same Fury that had brought them to the Lotus Hotel under Hade's orders. The only reason Hades brought them out was because he wanted one of his kids (he originally wanted Bianca) to be one of the children of the Prophecy. (To see info on the prophecy see related links)
Nico was then brought to a Military school in Bay Harbor, called Westover Hall. They were then found by Grover Underwood who believed they were two powerful demigods.
In the Titan's curse, Nico is considered a slightly annoying person. He is totally clueless about the ways of a demigod, and constantly asks questions which never ceases to annoy Percy, especially when Percy is constantly asked about Annabeth. Nico enjoys playing a card game called Mythomagic. He has every part of the game, even figurines, but his father Hades, which Bianca later gives to him. He often refers monsters and gods to Mythomagic creatures.
He develops a grudge against Percy for letting his sister die, after he vowed to protect her, and after she joined the Hunters. (For more info in the Hunters see related links)
After his sister's death, Nico becomes more of a dark character. He often says that "only the dead respect him, and that's only out of fear." He strongly believes he will never be accepted by the living. However, he is later shown that he was wrong to believe the living did not accept him. The Campers welcomed him graciously.
Nico later forgives Percy after he brings his sister's ghost and she tells him that it was not Percy's fault that she died.
Nico is described to have olive skin, which pales later in the series, shaggy black hair and wild brown eyes.
Nico has a pretty signature look. He dresses sort of in a gothic way. He can usually be found in a pair of ripped black jean and a black T-shirt. Later in the series he adds a skull ring to the outfit. In some appearances he can be found in an aviator's jacket. The most likely reason for this was because Nico had some relatives in WWII.
Nico has many powers because he is the son on Hades. Some of his powers tire him, but His powers mostly relate to death and shadow.
His powers include:
Nico is trained in using his powers more than the other Big Three demigods, like Percy Jackson and Thalia Grace.
Nico does need many weapons or magic items because of his numerous amounts of powers but he carries a Stygian iron sword.
The sword differs from other swords because only children of Hades can wield it. The sword is all black. It can drain souls to give it more power.
The swords purpose (besides self defense) is to help Nico channel his powers to control the dead.
Like almost every demigod, Nico Di Angelo has a fatal flaw. His fatal flaw is holding grudges. Like his father Hades, Nico can hold long and dangerous grudges.
No Percy decides to take his roll and in the end the hero is different people. I believe it was mostly Luke and Percy though but everyones decisions shaped who the hero would be.
Nico is on Percy's side, though he helps his father (Hades) in one part.
There are many debates over this, since Nico Di Angelo has not yet been cast.
Most say that Dominic Scott Kay or Jimmy Bennett should play Nico's part.
Nico is the son of Lord Hades. Hope this helped ;)xx
Spoiler:
As of House of Hades, Nico admitted to Cupid that he has a crush on Percy Jackson.
nico di angelo is known as the son of hades in pejackson
Yes
yes
the third he one of the main characters in the3 4 5 book
Yes it has and it's really good.
Percy Jackson and the lightning thief
A good idea would be to compare Rick Riordan's series to the actually Myths!
It does, but only in the demigod files.... it's a good one!
Try Percy Jackson or the 39 clues. They arent about aliens or powers ( well, maybe Percy Jackson counts as powers), but they are both reall good series. The first one in the Percy Jackson series is Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief. Artemis Fowl is a book I liked, as it is similar to Percy Jackson.
It is a good book, and pretty popular around 5th grade to 8th grade students. It is a small series but if your looking for a good well-known series, Percy Jackson is that.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
the third he one of the main characters in the3 4 5 book
In the last book he does turn good right as he dies.
Well if you like Percy Jackson you will like the Kane Chronicles. They are by the same author and they are really good. Sarcasm + Magic = AWESOME!
