One can think of coal and oil as being different forms of carbon-based fuel. Coal would be the solid state of fossil fuel. Oil would be the liquid state of fossil fuel. While natural gas would be the gas state of fossil fuel. Fossil fuel in different state of matter can undergo phase transition by applying energy. Thus there are processes that convert coal into oil and natural gas or from natural gas into liquid form.
Coal is salvaged from sedimentary or metamorphic rock, mostly comprised of pure carbon. Its composition, sourcing and use as a fuel for energy differs from oil. Known as oil, crude oil, or petroleum, it is found beneath the layers of sedimentary rock and is obtained through drilling and pumping, as opposed to mining.
Coal and oil are both fossil fuels.
no
Coal oil is only found in cannel coal and bituminous shale coal.
A barrel of crude oil has 5,800,000 Btu. A typical short ton (2,000 pounds) of coal has 20,754,000 Btu. Therefore, 559 pounds of coal would equal one barrel of oil in energy.
Most coal and oil are natural and is extracted from the earth. Most coal and oil are natural and is extracted from the earth.
Coal and oil are both fossil fuels.
No, but it once was. Coal is produced by pressure in the earth and it once was was plants and animals millions of years ago. Oil is produced the same way.
no
oil,gas and coal.
I'm looking for the same thing
Oil and petroleum are the same thing.
I believe you mean coal bed gas or coal bed methane which is a fossil fuel.
Coal is non-renewable. Once coal stocks are depleted - there will be no more ! The same goes for oil and gas !
Oil and petroleum are the same thing.
Use water and coal. :D
Coal oil is only found in cannel coal and bituminous shale coal.
I'm sure people aren't damaging coal but we are using up at a fast rate to make electricity same with oil for plastic's, the only thing it damages is the environment because of the fumes that are released hope this helps :)
