Best Answer

NO you are very confused mb stands for megabyte and gb stands for gigabyte

1024 mb makes one gb. : .1024 gb makes one terabyte or tb.like so

1024 mb=1 gb

1024 gb=1 tb

1024 tb=1 petabyte/pb

1024 pb=1 zettabyte/zb

1024 zb=1 yottabyte/yb

but why 1024 instead of 1000

well that has to do with binary values

that RAM (random access memory)

uses because computers use any number but the most

efficient is one that contains numbers to the power of 2.

5 to the power of 2 is 10. .1 to the power of 2 is 2. .and 2 to the power of 2 is 4

10

2

4

Technically, no. Everyone thinks that each level is only worth 1,000 (e.g., one megabyte equals one thousand kilobytes, etc.), but each level is actually worth 1,024. So, one megabytes is actually equal to 1,048,576 bytes.

Strictly 1 Mb (note the lower case b) is 1024 bytes, however it is often meant to represent 1000 bytes.

It can be either, but usually it means megabyte. Megabit is usually written Mb or Mbit.
