Overeating may constitute the sin of gluttony. Some people overeat out of nervousness, stress, to be polite to a host, etc., etc. Many of these circumstances may mitigate the seriousness of the sin, especially if they become habitual and the will is weakened in regard to their practice. Few people actually set out to stuff themselves on purpose, just because, but this would be the worst kind of gluttony.
