I suggest to you that any paint would harm an animal or a chicken. Paint contains chemicals and that would get into the water. Go get a plastic bowl that you can clean and won't rust.

There are two different trumpet vines from what I see.. Chalice (Centalla - which is poisonous and has berries) and the type I have -- Trumpet vine (Campsis radicans) - which can be mildly irritating to some people's skin and has seed pods.
