Yes Phil Anselmo is still alive. He is living in Louisiana and Running his record label. He was just on That Metal show in late 2010
Dimebag Darrell, whose real name was Darrell Abbott, was one of the original band members of the metal band Pantera. He was a guitarist for Pantera, and also for the band Damageplan. He was assassinated during a Damageplan concert in 2004.

No. There are bands in a similar vein, but Pantera wasn't even back together when Darrel was killed, and isn't likely to reform in the foreseeable future.

Both bands are great. Rammstein is probably more functional because they have not disbanded like Pantera did.

His favorite bands consisted of bands like Metallica, Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Dream Theater, Pantera, Slayer, Motley Crue, and many other bands like that. The Rev. basically liked hard rock bands, which are very similar to Avenged Sevenfold today.
