I do believe that Pace is a small town toward Milton going east of Pensacola.

Pace setters are necessary when meet directors want to assist world class runners in breaking meet or world records. This requires a very stiff pace which most other competitors would rather avoid. So "pace setters" are recruited to set a records pace through a portion of the race and then drop out allowing the best competitors to continue at a record pace.
Taking your time, means going slowly. Or just that----going at my own pace and not in a hurry.

It really depends on the pace your going.
A pace; a step, as in a dance., Right of going foremost; precedence.
Pace and speed are equivalent, in the sense that they both are a measure of how fast you are going. However, they are actually the inverse of each other, in terms of units of measurement. Pace usually refers to minutes per mile, while speed is measured as miles per hour. So, for example, if you are going at a pace of 6 minutes per mile, your speed is 10 miles per hour. As you slow down, your speed approaches zero while your pace approaches inifinity (one reason that GPS watches have trouble displaying pace at slow speeds).
the world population is going up at a mindblowing pace. in only 10 years we went form 4 billion people to 6 billion people. that a 50% increase in just 10 years.
