Practical is not the opposite of foolish, in my opinion. Being practical sounds like it is always a smart thing...but taking risks sometimes is the right choice. People may say for instance, that if you haven't known a person for at least 2 years, you shouldn't marry. But I've known many wonderful marriages that have lasted and began with only as little as a month of dating. That doesn't sound like practical advice for most people but sometimes matters of the heart can't be boiled down to practical decisions. Instincts count just as much here. So, being practical to me means doing things that make sense to you...but love can make us all act like fools and I'd rather be a fool in love than a person who is practically paralyzed by fear.
