There is no definitive answer to which is better as it depends on personal interest and career goals. Psychology focuses on understanding individual behavior and mental processes, while sociology examines society and social relationships. Both fields provide valuable insights, so the choice ultimately depends on which aspect of human behavior and society one finds more compelling.

Your employment opportunities in the private sector are about the same if you have a bachelors in Psychology or Sociology. You can work in HR or as a middle manager. But higher degrees in Psychology will be increasingly more useful than the same level in Sociology. For example with a PhD in Psych you can be a school or company shrink or freelance. There isn't much out there for a PhD in Sociology that you can't get with a Bachelors or Masters other than in Academia.

On the other hand I think Sociology is much more interesting and besides there is plenty of overlap.
