Sometimes, although in America the Jewish Roses were often Rosensteins and Rosenbergs and such back in Germany. The latter name particularly contributed to a "bloom of Roses", as it became associated with the notorious convicted spies Julius and Ethel, although evidence indicates the latter may in fact have been innocent.

My guess is that most Roses in this country are non-Jewish however, and in case it was pondered, Pete is a gentile...
