No, salvation is not a reward for anything you do on earth. It is a gift from God and nothing you can work for, but only receive from Him by the power of the Holy Spirit. Please see in scripture Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of GOD, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Eph. 2:9 also).

In many religious beliefs, eternal life in heaven is viewed as a reward granted to individuals who lead a virtuous life or follow certain guidelines. It is typically seen as a form of divine grace or gift rather than something that can be earned through actions alone.

Not at all. The Bible - God's Word- is very clear that heaven is the place where God dwells and as such can only be inhabited by holy and perfect beings. Humans are born sinners and so, even if one lives a life of absolute goodness ( as best he can) he will still have to admit there were times where he did not do his best or made a mistake or did wrong. At any rate the Bible tells us: Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death but the gidft of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Going to heaven is a gift given by God not something earned. Nobody ever earned there way into heaven. John 14:6 I am the way the truth an dthe life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me. John 3:16 lays it out pretty clearly: For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish but have eternal life. God knows that we cannot get ti His heaven on our own that is why He provided us the way. This is why Jesus Christ cam to Earth 2000 years ago and died on that cross in Jerusalem. He wanted to pay the sin penalty for us so we could all go to heaven and be with Him. You must just trust and believe on Jesus Christ! In Acts 16:30,31 a Roman Centurion asked the Apostle Paul Sirs, what must i do to be saved? and Paul answered thus: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved..."

Why would you go to heaven?

This is sort of a broad question which means that a broad answer can be given. Basically, if you are familiar with the Holy Bible, you would understand that Heaven is described as an eternal reward given to you by God for your belief in Him, right judgment, and positive moral practices during your time on Earth. With that said, you would go to Heaven to live the promised eternal life of peace and joy. Hopefully that answers the question.
