I recently cruised with Princess Cruise Line and was assured that there were several 'inside' bar areas designated for smokers. As a smoker, I clarified the smoking policy several times before booking. Once aboard, after they had taken my money, the designated areas had been reduced to the cigar bar, the casino (closed for the majority of the cruise) and the nightclub. Not too bad.. the nightclub was empty except for the smokers. Two days into the cruise the captain, Nick Nash, decided that the nightclub was to be redesignated as a no smoking area. Although the nightclub remained empty for the duration of the cruise and several members of the crew said that bar takings were considerably down, the smoking policy remained unchanged. I, and several others, complained but was told that the captain could do as he liked. I asked to see the smoking policy but was told that it was an e mail and I was not allowed to see it. I have cruised with Princess on more than one occasion but I won't cruise with Princess Cruise Line again, not because of their smoking policy but because of the dicatatorial approach of Captain Nick Nash.
