actually yes. its nothing to be worried about. they shouldn't last long. its just like when your body starts to twitch after smoking sometimes, but it is a little more intense. i would sit or lay down though, just in case you fall or something.
Edit: I've seen in happen several times. At parties, friend's living rooms, etc. At worst, I've seen peoples eyes roll to the back of their heads, followed by violent shaking. It shouldn't be a big worry, just make sure your buddy is somewhere where he's not going to hurt himself too badly.
