If your water is naturally soft it is perfectly safe to drink. If your water has been softened by a "water-softener" it contains sodium ions as a byproduct of the softening process. Having an intake of this much sodium in your drinking water could be detrimental.
Depends upon what you want to use it for. Softener discharge water has VERY high levels of TDS (total dissolved solids), chloride and hardness. Generally there are no "good" uses for this water - you certainly don't want to consume it, wash with it or use it for irrigation. because of the high hardness of this water, it would be good for use as a floculation agent to help separate, for example, soap from water.
There is much confusion as to whether soft water is actually safe to drink. Some believe that it could cause an unhealthy rise in the body's sodium levels.

It depends exactly which soft drink it is but in every case the main ingredient is water.

No, if the water is contaminated then refrigeration will NOT make it safe to drink.
No. Even the water in the soft drink is not an element, but a compound.

The gas in the carbonated soft drink will escape. The bottle will explode...usually with the cap getting pushed out. This depends on the heat of the water and the amount of carbon dioxide in the soft drink. It is not safe to experiment with this.
