When a human baby is in the womb their are special cells that tell the body where to grow the limbs, when the child is born and starts to grow those cells become permanently dormant. These cells are very similar to the dormant cells found in humans and that's how they regenerate using those cells. These cells are also similar to the other cells on mammals.
I don't really know that but, I do know this. God made that creature very special. Well, everything is special but the starfish is really amazing. To tell you the truth, when I was younger, I found a starfish and it was stuck to a rock. I wanted to have it so, I took a stick and poked it. I kinda cut on of the arms off. But 2 days later, the arm was halfway grown back! God is truly amazing!
no a star fish cannot reproduce through regeneration but can repair its injured parts by this process. regeneration is the process that involves only retaining the lost part of the body again by simple cell division.it does not require any involvement of sex chromosomes.
if a starfish loses a limb,it will grow back, and the limb will form into a new starfish.
Sea Stars can grow back legs or arms if one gets cut off.
Because if the limb didnt grow back then it will die and if they die then there wnot be as many starfish at all
they do it naturally that's for sure.
1 year
It is called regeneration
When a starfish loses a limb, it can grow back another one, and the one it lost turns into a new starfish.
Starfish :)
a starfish can shed an arm and grow it back bye(:
starfish
It grows a new arm. Not only that, but the lost arm (if not eaten by something) grows into a new sea star. Unfortunately, we "superior" beings traded this regenerative capability for such baubles as arched feet, opposable thumbs, stereoscopic eyes, and brains. Can't have everything.
No. A leopard is able to grow back lost skin or tissue, but if a leopard loses a limb, it will not grow back.
Technically, No. Starfish have arms and legs. If one of their arms or legs break they can grow it back because the have no bones/skeletons. However, during this process the starfish gets attacked and hurts itself in the process then the starfish will grow more than 1 limb/ arms/ legs
If you mean as a starfish grows a new limb then no they don't
Depends on the particular variety of starfish, but they're all important food sources. For example, the common starfish gets eaten by seabirds, dolphins, porpoises, gulls, sea otters, lobsters and crabs, and by several species of fish -- as well as other starfish! And Humans of course. The crown-of-thorns starfish (the notorious predator of coral reefs) is itself eaten by various fish, such as the humphead wrasse; by the harlequin shrimp; and by the giant triton.
Some reptiles can regenerate. Lizards have been known to regrow tails, arms, and legs.
I'm not fully certain about if its cut in two but i know if a limb is cut off it regrows, The starfish if cut in two it maybe possible both halves regrow the other half into two individual starfish.
