Can I just say why post theese crappy messages the answer boards as people might want to take an interest in human anotomy. Yes meningitis is curable if it is viral meningtis you can have a dose of antibiotics to clear it up and with bed rest it would have been cured within a week or with bacterial meningitis which is a lot more advanced hospital care with penicillin and various different types of drugs to try to cure the disease.

Some viruses (i.e. herpes or HPV) have immunizations or treatments available and some are incurable except to let time do its work (i.e. the common cold). Bacterial diseases are easier to cure because you can take one of several varieties of anti-biotics to clear it up.

If you have caught a virus before, you will less likely suffer it's full effects, as your body will still have defenses against the virus, such as certain antibody types that have remained in the bloodstream and white blood cells that release antibodies and ingest pathogens (fancy word for anything that is either a virus, bacteria or fungal infection).

Its sometimes curable it depends though because if it gets really serious it can cause death. There are antibiotics that you can take go to wikipeidia and there'll be a list of things you can take to treat it.
