No more than going to Canada, Spain, Brazil or Argentina.
South America:Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil

Most of Brazil will be warmer, because it is closer to the equator. Except for the high mountains in the west of Brazil, it is seldom cold in the interior. Most of Argentina is farther south (away from the equator) and includes substantial land regions away from the coast. So unless you are comparing the Argentine coast with the highest elevations in Brazil, locations in Brazil are going to be generally warmer in winter.

It is not clear who will be the champion of the World Cup since the tournament is in the quarter finals now where we have Brazil, Netherlands, Germany and Argentina to contest for the cup.
Brazil is to the north and northeast of Uruguay, so from some northern parts of Uruguay travelling east would bring you Brazil. To the east of most of Uruguay is the Atlantic Ocean. If you kept going east you would pass south of South Africa and on towards Australia.
