It can help us to understand what the Holocaust was like from the perspective of a young teen who lived through it. I personally don't care too much for the Diary, but it is a good thing to give you a witness to history and try not to repeat it.

∙ 12y agoPersonally, I wouldn't really recommend it. It was quite tedious and all she did was complain. Yes, I realize that there wasn't anything to do in hiding, but it really wasn't about the war. It as more of her growing up. I was a bit disappointed. Anyhow, I would recomend it for people who like sad stories, since it WAS a little sad. However, I just don't think the book had any direction. It was just her talking on and on about how she didn't get along with her mother. By the way, I wouldn't read it if I were under 12. You may not get it, and it is a bit inapropriate.
