Yes, digesting an egg is definitely a chemical change. When an egg is digested, its proteins are broken down into amino acids, and its fats are also broken down. These chemical changes, as well as others, mean that digesting an egg is a chemical change.

The reason why food digestion is considered to be a chemical change is because enzymes and acids are released by various parts of the digestive system to help break down food. Such enzymes include amylase and pepsin.

After the food is ingested, the food is broken up using enzymes. Enzymes are a renewable catalyst, which means that they can be used again and again to speed up a reaction. The best way to describe the process is the enzymes have a specific hole that only the right molecule can fit into. An example is Amylase enzymes. They only allow starch molecules to fit in. once the molecules are fitted inside them, the enzymes immediately break apart the molecule and down into simpler molecules. Amylase breaks starch into fatty acids and glycerol. Lipase enzymes break down fats. Etc...

The purpose of this breaking down is to make it easier for these molecules to pass in to the blood through the walls of the intestine. Also, when something is smaller, it has a larger surface area so it is easier for other enzymes and molecules to act on them.

it is both a chemical change and a physical change... chemical change changes the form like with spit and stomach acids and physical change changes the shape like chewing and the peristalsis

Is Digestion of food a physical or a chemical change?

it depends on how you look at it. its primarily chemical because without the chemicals in your body like pancreatic juices and hydrochloric acid, you could'nt break them down. but physically you chew your food before you swallow it for those chemical processes to occur. its safe to say however that the CHEMICAL part is absolutely essential for the proper digestion of food.

Type of digestion that breaks down food by chemical reactions?

Chemical digestion.

Is digestion of food physical change or chemical change?

Both, It physically alters the excrement and chemically changes the nutrients.

Mechanical digestion prepares food for what kind of digestion?

Chemical Digestion. Mechanical digestion is the chewing of your food while chemical digestion is the processes that further break down the food like your saliva and stomach acids.

Is Digesting food Physical Property Or Chemical Property Or Physical Change Chemical Change?

im not 100% sure but i believe its a chemical change mostly because a chemical change is when the molocules themselves change to create something else and physical is when the molocules only rearange themselves they don't change at all. seeing as how when you digest you do change whatever you have eaten by breaking it down with the acids in your stomach turning it into what comes out next.

What type of digestion is produced by breaking down and chewing food?
