The food chain is actually a loop. Bunny eats carrot, cheetah eats bunny, maggots eat cheetah (after death), soil absorbs maggots, carrots absorbs soil, bunny eats carrot ... it goes round and round.

The closest thing you could say is that cheetahs are at the top of the predatory food chain.

Yes. The animal at the top of a food chain will be a predator. However, not all predators are at the top of a food chain.

If a food chain contains only a producer and a primary consumer, a predator is not at the top. An example would be in an isolated environment where no predators existed to prey on the primary consumers.
