Hopefully the complete removal of affected tissue.

When it has spread to lymph nodes (metastatic), either in the neck, groin or armpits, a radical disection is carried out, removing all lymph nodes in that area, together with surrounding tissue. After drains are removed and wound has healed, localised radiation treatment is sometimes done to kill any remaining cells. Immune boosting drugs such as interferon are also used , in an attempt to help the body kill any cells in the lymphatic system or bloodstream.

Stage 0 melanoma has a cure rate of 99.5%. Stage 1 is 90% or higher and stage to is anywhere from 40-80%. Beyond that it is usually not curable. Women tend to survive it more than men do. But again, with early detection, it's one of the more curable cancers.

If you catch the melanoma before it spreads to organs, it can usually be cleared by surgery. The infected tissue will be removed, and any infected lymph nodes will be removed.

If it has spread to organs, you're going to see more of the classic cancer treatments used, such as Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, and Radiation Therapy.

As far as cancer goes, Melanoma is a relatively easy one to treat if caught early, due to the fact that it presents on the skin and is visible.

You cannot get rid of melanoma yourself. You need to see a dermatologist to have it removed. You will want to do this before it grows anymore.

What is this patchy white spot on your skin A few years back while peeling from a sunburn you got another sunburn and its been patchy ever since?

It sounds like you might have a spot of melanoma. This sounds serious. I would suggest going to a doctor or dermatologist right away. If you go to a doctor, they will either treat it themselves(if need be) or refer you to a dermatologist. Do as soon as possible, because it might be cancerous and spread.
