i have been suffering with this prurigo nodularis for 5 yrs. told it was mrsa, taken every antibiotic even intervenus!!!! finally i found the best dr, in the world!!! i have it on my arms legs and worst yet my testicles !!! i thought i would die with the pain -itch bleeding from the itch!!!!! He gave me predisone 10mg. 3 xday with together doxepin25mg3x a day must be taken together!!!! I after 10 days feel alive again it is almost completely gone!!!! I cant believe after 5 yrs. of suffering i can accually and truthfully say i am the most comfortable and happiest man on earth!!!!! Thanks so much doc.!!!!! i dont know if i can name him or not?
Please give doctors name we are all looking for relief from this terrible disease.If doctor is listed in public phone book I am sure he wont mind being listed here
I have suffered with PN for 30 years. There is no known cause or cure. I take prednisone and apply bactrim ointment. I make sure my skin stays moisterized daily no matter what the weather.

I suffer from prurigo and it was steadily getting worse but i found a "cure" to control it. Prurigo is nothing but dry skin so moisture soothes it very much so....I had sores EVERYWHERE and since I've done my treatment every night, I only have scars (using bleaching cremes, though!) and my prurigo's are gone. My mother bought me a sauna suit (Wal-Mart) and my treatment is that after I get out of the tub every night I rub Aquaphor (Wal-Mart) or my prescribed ointment, Desoximetasone, on my skin and go to sleep with my sauna suit on. It is HORRIBLE but mine are going away...Of course this does not cure the new outbreaks, but it prevents them and they dont get to be so "messy".
