Apparently the dreaming lords turned the dead bodies of vanquished invading tribes into limestone pillars to show their approval of the peaceful tribe that lived in the area.
My intuition & empathy make me think that there is alot more to it & I'm not sure of the valididty of this story as I got it from a western website with no references. I would prefer to hear the story from a Noongar but there dosnt seem to be a lot of info regarding the stories behind this amazing site. Its a real shame as I would love to see all visitors approach the site with the proper awe & respect it deserves.
