Yes, there is..
Meineke just gave me a quote of $185 for a 1999 Nissan Maxima.
sounds like you are talking about the y pipe
Towards the front right behind the flex pipe, it is the first exhaust component near the front when you look under the car. It looks like a small muffler.
The flex on the 1992 maxima is not, to my knowledge, replaceable. What you need is the front pipe and associated gaskets and bolts/studs. I had mine replaced 2 months ago, runs great. if old bolts/studs are thinthen you need new ones. try eBay for the front pipe, got mine for $100. beware of broken manifold gaskets and studs because the removal of the front pipe might jolt some stuff around.

up your tail pipe
It cost about $40 for the part from Nissan or an independent parts dealer, plus another $60 for labor that's what my shop is charging me to fix mine.
A GOOD MUFFLER SHOP LIKE MEINEKE CAN CUT OUT THE BAD SECTION OF FLEX PIPE AND WELD IN A NEW ONE. USUALLY TH PIPE IS AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN NEW.
located on the exhaust manifold just before the flex pipe.
normally they are located on the exhaust. you may have three. on the manifold and on the exhaust pipe itself...
An exhaust flex pipe is made of layers of woven stainless steel.
You can use regular exhaust pipe providing it fits and you can bend it into the location.
