It depends, if it is fuel injected then the answer would be yes, if it is carbureted then the answer would be no. If you noticed excessive noise from the back end of the truck with the key switch on engine off just before the fuel pump quit, then most likely the fuel pump took a dump.
and to change the pump on a fuel injected model you have to remove the gas tank, it's located in the tank. Do not smoke while your doing this!!

Found it, was on the heater box, passenger side. Thanbks anyway.
Chevy did not use 1 on there trucks. Check fuel pump relay and fuse. May just have a bad pump.
Look on the Heater Box on the passenger side. The manual says on firewall, but it is on the heater box.
