If you mean, employed by Motocross Race Teams, "very few", the talent level of the competition is extremely high, so teams look for the very best all over the World. A Motocross Rider must be good enough to catch the eye of the Team, then show promise and the ability to win.
There is no "job" like that, you can't just browse the adds in a newspaper and find something like "motocross racer wanted". However, if you are good at what you do, over time you will get noticed and as you progress you will pick up some sponsors along the way. Sponsors give their riders free gear and may even pay some money for advertising them. This is not a job, but i guess you could call the money you earn a "salary"
of corse it is, if you race and you are sponsored then you gett garranteed bikes every year you are sponnered and the team pay for every thing you need aven some sponseres give you 100,000 pound camper vans and your sorted. all you need is the time and atleast some money.
