Yes. 180
680 was designed for straight walled rifle cartridges like the 30 carbine and the 33 hornet, can also be used in the 357 maximum for silhouette shooting.
The 102 inch flatbed gives you a little more width, so there's less risk of being ticketed for a load protruding past your rub rails. A 96 inch will be a little lighter.
An awful lot.The amount of "powder" added to a case can have several effects.Velocity: - The more powder the greater the velocityAccuracy: - All guns react differently to the amount of powder. High velocity does not mean better accuracy. You need to experiment to find out which load suits your rifle/pistol.Safety: Too much powder can cause the casing to rupture. Always follow the reloading guide and never go above the maximum load.
he wanted to lighten his load
Stress testing means increasing the load ,and cheking the performance at each level. Load testing means at a time giving more load by the expectation and checking the performance at that leval. Volume testing means first we have to apply initial load, then at certain time increase the load and check the performance.
Depends on the load.
The case originated from the 30-06 family so it is usually a large rifle primer, standard or magnum, depending on the load.
your colt was probably made for lighter loads then 38 special. try a lighter re-load cartridge like 2.0 grains bulls eye powder
No
i loaded 1 shell with the 110 bushing that showed on my scale as around 20 grains. my scale wont read down to .9
.30 caliber bullet, 30 grains of blackpowder when it was originally made. Smokeless powder is now used. Actually the 30-30 began life as the 30 WCF (Winchester Center Fire) aka 30 Winchester Smokeless or 30 SMOKELESS. The second 30 refers to 30 grains of smokeless powder. (30 grains of black powder would have been a pretty whimpy load)
If you were to go to hodgdon,s web site there is a site entitled load data.Just pick the caliber first, then the bullet weight, then the powder maker, the site will show you the starting load in grains for the powder you choose and the max powder charge in grains also.Good luck!
Possible, but, expensive.

Just as a magnum wine bottle is larger than a standard bottle, the firearms industry used the term magnum to refer to a cartridge that is more powerful than the standard cartridge.
by siltation, as part of the bed load
The model 28 was made to fire the .357 magnum cartridge, but you can also fire the .38 special cartridge. The .38 special is lighter in recoil and easier on the pocket book than the powerful .357 magnum. Use .38 Special for practice, and .357 for a hunting or defense load.
