There is no specific danger except may be some pick-pocketing in some crowded places. Tourists often have a special attitude in the street, and are often unaware that they need to follow the same basic safety measures they would follow at home (be aware of people around you, not displaying openly and mindlessly their belongings, etc..) Apart that Paris is a quite safe place.
there are the same dangers as any other country.
France is rated as a quite safe country. Tourists may have to care a little about their possessions in crowded or touristic places. As in other countries, some useful advice can be found on the metropolitan police website for tourists (better safe than sorry).
Most of the other countries in the world view France as a cowardly nation. After Napolean was removed from office it seems that the French people are always asking for help or just surrendering. During World War Two, France was one of the first countries to surrender. Yes, at the time it was a good idea to avoid the destruction that Germany would have caused but it was left up for the Allied forces to save France. Canada, Great Britain, the United States, and even Australia sacrificed their soldiers to save France.
Actually less than most countries. Any travel can have dangers but Canada is known for tourism and hospitality. Our laws are similar to both the United States and Great Britain. Canada has its share of crime but no more so than any nation and most Canadians are known to be quick to help when tourists or anyone is having a problem.
To have a personal insurance covering your responsibility is standard for all French. In France that is tied with your home insurance. French people don't suscribe, to an additional insurance. They don't require tourists to suscribe or provide a proof of personal insurance, although it would be a bad idea to not have any insurance.
