One. I did a lab on this in my Biology class and I only observed one under the compound microscopes my class used. Hope this helps. (^_^)

An onion cell only contains one nuclei. The only time that this is not true would be when the nuclei is dividing.

There are 8 chromosomes in the nucleus of an onion root cell. The cells are undergoing mitosis, during which the amount of DNA is doubled even as the number of chromosomes remains constant.

Does a nucleus have more than one cell?

well, a cell has one nucleus

Why is it generally more useful to stain eukayotic cells than prokaryotic cells?

When you stain a Eukaryotic Cell, the nucleus becomes more clear visually. This makes it more useful to stain a Eukaryotic Cell than a Prokaryotic Cell because Prokaryotic Cells do not have a true Nucleus. Hope it helped! -iKiNG

Why is the nucleus in the center of a cell?

It is not always in the center of the cell. No more than if the endoplasmic reticulum is found there. In some cell types it is found toward the edge. It may be due to what is actually in the cell.

What identifies this cell as a bacterial cell rather than a plant cell?

A bacterial cell has no nucleus. It is prokaryotic, meaning before nucleus, whereas a plant cell has a nucleus and is eukaryotic, meaning true nucleus. Also, plant cells are often specialized whereas bacterial never are.

Which structure is specific to eukaryotes cells?

The eukaryotic cell's structure is more complex than the prokaryotic type. The eukaryptic cell has a "true" nucleus, for one.

Does an onion cell have more than one nucleus?

more than one cell cause of the many layers.

What cell parts did you find in the onion cell but not in the cheek cells?

The onion cells are much more rectangle shaped, than the cheek cells and the nucleus in the onion cell is much more bigger and better seen in the microscope.

Is the chloroplast in onion cells larger than the nuclei?

Chloroplasts are larger than nuclei. A typical Chloroplast measure 4 to 6 um, and a typical nucleus measure about 3 um.

Why do onion cells look so different than human cheek cells?

Onion cells are plant cells, so they have a cell wall and more angular shape (but no chloroplasts, like some plant cells, since they are not part of the photosynthesizing part of the onion plant) Human cheek cells are animal cells, so the biggest difference is that they have no cell wall and thus a rounder shape.

Does eukaryotic cell have DNA in a nucleus?

Yes, a eukaryotic cell contains Deoxyribonucleicacid (DNA) in the nucleus of the cell. If the cell has a nucleus, that's where you'll find the DNA. The only cells without a nucleus are Prokaryotes.

Which one is the smaller structure a nucleus or a cell?

A cell nucleus would be smaller than a cell because a cell nucleus is inside the cell, so it has to fit inside.

What cell structure gave the onion skin cells a more rigid shape than your cheek cells?

Plant cells (the onion skin cells) have a cell wall, while animal cells (cheek cells) only have the cell membrane.

What does the nucleolus in a cell organelle do?

The nucleolus is a structure within the nucleus of Eukaryotic cells that is involved in the production of ribosomes, can be more than one in a nucleus

Does eukaryotic cell have a smaller cell nucleus than an prokaryotic?

Not necessarily, however eukaryotic cells are known in general to be larger and more complicated than prokaryotic cells, so there is a good chance that it will.

Is it possible for a eukaryotic cell to have more than one nucleus?

If you're talking about a normal eukaryotic cell, then no, it is not possible. But if the cell is undergoing cell division, the original nucleus will formed into two nuclei in the cell at one moment of time but that is because the cell is going to split into 2 daughter cells and each daughter cell needs a nucleus.
