"Wild caught" meat is better than factory farm meat, obviously, because it hasn't been fed hormones and pesticides and cement (I am not making this up -- factory farms feed their cows cement dust to increase their weight), but meat in general, of all sorts, is bad for you. Cats and dogs have straight-line intestinal systems that, not to put it too delicately, grab it and get rid of it. Our complicated double-loop intestines hold onto things, and take everything they can get. Once a baby gets teeth, they don't need as much protein as miniature poodle does.

If you like the flavor of meat, add a few shreds of it to your salad, pasta, veggies, whatever. But meat of ANY sort should NEVER be the main part of the meal. Look at your teeth. They're made for CHEWING, not cutting and slicing like a cat's.

Deer and pig also tend to have diseases and parasites that are easily transmissable, so make sure you cook it above boiling temperature.

There are many benefits to eating venison, which makes it one of the best red meats you can eat. It provides your body with many essential nutrients whilst remaining low in saturated fat comparative to other red meats.
