Is whiteout a good substitute for nail polish?

Well, because of the chemicals in the white out, slowly the nail beds begin to curl up and the nail itself wears down. Instead, use a good quality base coat followed by a nude shade of brown, depending on the amount of shine in the polish. Then coat the top of the nail with a quality clear top coat, this helps to protect the nail and the polish generally stays on for longer.

Another answer:

Absolutely not! Do not use white out! It not only kills your nails, but is not good to breathe in.
