What is the best anti-aging ingredient?
Anti-aging moisturizer products and its ingredients: The ingredients of the anti-aging moisturizer are categorized into two forms: Humectant agents and Occlusive agents. The former enhances the hydration levels in the skin by extracting water from the skin's underlying layers. Although urea and lactate are humectant agents of anti-aging moisturizer, they are found naturally in the skin where they effectively help to increase water content in the skin. The latter builds a protective barrier on the skin's surface to preserve the moisture in the skin. These agents help to control acne in acne-prone individuals. The most common occlusive ingredients of anti-aging moisturizer are beeswax, petrolatum, paraffin, and cocoa. Apart from these agents (occlusive and humectant), several other ingredients are also used in anti-aging moisturizers. Emollients, ingredient of moisturizer, fill in gap between the cells on the skin's surface making the skin look smooth and soft. Emulsifiers are powerful agents that help non-mixable solutions to blend with other ingredients. Preservatives help to prevent bacteria growth, reducing the possibility of having infection with the use of the product and some fragrances are included in the mixture to beat bad odors and give pleasant aromatic smell when used. So, before buying an anti aging moisturizer, go through back of the product and check its ingredients properly.

What are emollients and why are they used in cosmetics?
Emollients are substances that soften and soothe the skin. They are used to correct dryness and scaling of the skin. They are a key component in the manufacture of lipstick, lotions, and other cosmetic products. The terms "moisturizer" (something that adds moisture) and "emollient" (something that softens) are sometimes used interchangeably, as they describe different effects of these agents on the skin. However, the term emollient is most often used to describe single ingredients, whereas "moisturizer" describes finished products.

Don’t Have Dry Skin - Use a Face Moisturizer?
A face moisturizer is a necessity for most women, and even many men will use that product. The older we get, the drier our skin will become. After many years of sun exposure, wind, cold and other elements that we are exposed to, the face needs a product to bring back its’ moisture. A face moisturizer can even protect our skin from the elements. A face moisturizer should even by used by the youth who are still in their twenties. By starting out early with this product, it can prevent the skin from becoming so dry in our later years. It can also help prevent lines or wrinkles from forming at a premature age. The facial skin tends to get thinner as we age, and using a face moisturizer can slow or prevent that from happening. Not only does the perfect moisturizer help reduce or prevent lines, wrinkles or dryness, it can also reverse any damage that has already been done to the skin. The best face moisturizers will have peptides and amino acids included in the ingredients. These not only help keep collagen and elastin in the skin, but can even reproduce it. Antioxidants are also ingredients that will fight off any free radicals to prevent more skin damage. Before choosing a face moisturizer, read the ingredients and possible side effects. Some people have sensitive skin and a product that is geared towards that type of skin would be better than a regular product. Also, if you have a known allergic reaction to certain ingredients, that is another reason to read what’s inside the face moisturizer you are choosing. If you purchase a brand for the first time, try it first on a small area of the skin before using it on the whole face. This could prevent any adverse reactions. A face moisturizer should be used all day either alone or under make-up. Then at night, the moisturizer should also be applied to keep the moisture in while we sleep. Our skin is the most relaxed while sleeping and the face moisturizer can do its’ best work. Good moisturizers can be purchased at the drug store, online or in a department store. Just because a product may cost the most doesn’t mean it’s the best one around. Read the labels and ask friends before buying face moisturizer.
