In spanish it is common to find the two words joined together as "Jesucristo", but the individual words would be "Jesus", which is writen the same as in English but pronounced more or less as ("Heasoos"); and "Cristo" is pronounced as ("Creesto"). So the word "Jesucristo" is pronounced in spanish more or less as ("Heasoocreesto").

The English pronounciation is not the same as the original neither. The Hebrew pronounciation for Jesus sounds more or less as ("heeashooa"). And Christ, which was the greek word for anointed, was pronounced in greek more or less as ("hreestos").

Shouldn't the name Jesus Christ be Jesus the Christ?

That is a wonderful question, but the Bible does not use much punctuation, so in reality, speaking of the grammar, it is suppose to be written Jesus, Christ. not Jesus Christ. As many references in the KJV of the Bible, is Christ Jesus, written correctly Christ, Jesus, or Jesus, Christ. It is referring to Christ.
