There are very few states in the U.S. with legal minimum ages for children home alone, but many state agencies have published guidelines. Georgia, Illiniois, Maryland and Oregon are a few of the states with specific ages specified in their laws.
12 years of age appears to be the most common recommendation. Below in Related Links is an article entitled Home Alone Children Legal Age Limits which provides one guideline from a California agency representative who suggests that 8 year olds and over can be left at home for up to several hours (usually after school before a parent gets home from work). This site also provides a state by state comparison with references. The Tennessee citation referenced in this link (Tennessee Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges) states: "There is no legal age for children to stay at home alone. Parents are advised to use their best judgment, keeping the child's maturity level and safety issues in mind."

It really depends on the intelligence of your child, but most children don't get left alone until they are about 11 or 12.
Children under 12 years of age cannot be left at home alone, or to care for younger children. http://www2.immigratemanitoba.com/browse/howtoimmigrate/beforeyouapply/community/settle-law.html
From my understanding, a parent can leave their child or children home alone at any age, as long as they think they are mature enough to handle it. Basically, there is not a law in Ohio about leaving a child alone. However, in the instance that something was to happen while the child or children were alone, then something would be done legally.
A child under the age of 16 or 17 should not be left alone for several days. Some children at 16 shouldn't be left alone either and this should be determined by how responsible they are.

Currently in the state of Utah, there is no specific age that children must reach in order to be left alone. It is recommended that children are not left alone until they are mature and knowledgeable about various safety issues.

You can leave responsible children alone for short periods of time, but not overnight. Children at the age of 12 can be left at home for short periods of time.

the legal age is 12 to be left alone with siblings. Keep in mind though that even at 12 some children arnt mature enough to be left alone even without having to care for siblings as well.
In British Columbia, there is no specific age set by law for when a child can be left home alone. However, the Ministry of Children and Family Development suggests that children under the age of 12 should not be left alone without supervision. Parents are encouraged to consider the child's maturity, the length of time they will be left alone, and the safety of the environment when making this decision. Ultimately, it's the parent's responsibility to ensure the child's safety and well-being.
In Oklahoma, there is no specific law that states the exact age at which a child can be left home alone. However, the Oklahoma Department of Human Services suggests that children under the age of 12 should not be left alone for extended periods. Parents are encouraged to consider the maturity and capabilities of their child when making this decision, ensuring their safety and well-being.
