It depends on what state you hunt in, in pa there is no minimum hunting age but the person must be accompanied by an adult and they need no license but the adult doing the accompanying must have a license and be in control of the weapon at all times except while sitting with the child also only one weapon can be taken along. at age 12 the child must buy a license and may carry their own weapon but must be accompanied by a competent adult also the child must stay within talking distance from the adult ,it doesn't have to be a parent or guardian, then you can hunt on your own at age 16 with a license, just check your states hunting laws they should have a website.

For a true assault rifle, which is select fire (semi and full auto and/or burst fire), you must be 21 with approval for a Class III NFA tax stamp to buy one. For an ordinary, Title I long gun (including semi automatic rifles, with or without the scary looking features), 18, again, in accordance with federal law.

well you can be 10, but you need to have a parent with you. You can hunt by yourself if your 12
