There are two more common problems to induce a check engine light without any other indications of problems.
1. most common - miss fire due to bad or faulty coil
if this should happen, it an easy fix but tight to get...test coil by switching it with another one if the new reading is the new location then its the coil and replace it. if not then you need more help then i call offer here.
2. O2 sensor - 1 of 4....2 are the front of cat and 2 behind cat most likely on of 2 behind cat, your guess as good as mine...if it is cat back O2 sensor just buy one and replace one but don't through out incase that's the good one, rotate between the 2 old ones to fix the problem.
3. bad fuel--fill up and add gas treatment
4. fuel cap not on completely
5. water in fuel line--add gas treatment and then after 3 driving cycles with no problems, the light will turn off.
