Pretty much any animal can be harmful, even domesticated animals like cats and dogs. Wild animals can especially pose as a high threat to people because they are not used to humans are do not understand how to react and so therefore often lash out. For example a wild lion would be incredibly dangerous to be with unprotected and it could kill but if the animal has been taught to be tame it can be calm and some lions, hippos, tigers etc have been known to live in houses with people.

Domesticated animals can be harmful if not treated correctly or they may not be able to cope with the lifestyle it has (although this is fairly rare). For example, recently in the UK there have been some dogs like Pitbulls that have attacked children and ultimately someone died.

Some animals have it in their nature to be ferocious just as some people can be angrier than others. All animals pose a threat and can be harmful but also animals can be trained and looked after to be tame and not harmful.
