There are 10 functions of political parties; first- political parties serve as agencies of action, the performers of action of the government. Second- parties serves as vehicles to bring together the various demands for government action made by individual citizens as well as interest groups. Third - parties help shape public opinion. Fourth - parties offer the people political alternatives or policy choices. Fifth - parties bring together in the organization different kinds of people and groups. Sixth - parties run the government or at least part of it. Seventh - parties act as employment agencies. Eighth - parties serve as critics of and checks on other party (party of the president). Ninth - parties serve as instruments of peaceful change. Tenth - acts as links between individuals or groups and the government by allowing these people to be party members who help formulate polices and offering candidates to voters.
