Best Answer

1 litre is the volume enclosed in a cube 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm. 1 cubic metre would be the volume enclosed in a cube 100 cm x 100 cm x 100 cm. As such there are 103 litres per cubic meter (m3)

One litre is one cubic decimeter.

1 liter = 1 dm³ = (10 cm)³

One metre is 100cm = 10dm.
