The carb on a McCullouch chainsaw can be adjusted by turning the idle mixture screws. This controls how much fuel and air are mixed inside the carburetor.
Factory carb settings for a 84 Honda 200s
Dirt in the carb or carb out of adjustment or both.
It sounds like your carburetor is out of adjustment, set too rich. Try setting your H and L screws both to 1 turn out from lightly seated and play with it from there. If you keep flooding the valve seats in the carb may be damaged, or you may be low on compression. http://store.chainsawr.com/
22mm is the float height for this carb
it is in the gove compartment
in the tire
adjustment screw is between throttlre linkage and carb body on the right side of the carb as you stand at the front of the car looking at the carb
Fairly simple. Fuel line up from tank.....underneath carb.....to right side of carb inlet fitting.
Those saws were built my Mcculloch and some of the older ones were built by Remington for Montgomery Wards. I'd have to see a picture of it to know the corresponding model. On the carb, high is 7/8 ths of a turn out from lightly seated. Low would be 1-1/4 turn out. This is ball park settings. The saw should run but will need fine tuning. Be careful not to turn the H screw in to far and lean out the mixture and damage the motor. http://store.chainsawr.com/
Carb adjustment or computer problem depending on equipment and year
on bottom of carb
There is an idle adjustment at the carb. Look where the accelerator pulls the butterfly stop and you will see an adjustment screw.
