How do I get admission into the top law colleges in India?

The Bar Council of India, recommends admission into law courses through the common entrance exam which is named CLAT. This exam is held every year, and based on the scores on this exam, students are eligible for admission into the top law colleges of the country. Admission 2020 has been hectic for law students, the CLAT examination has been postponed to be held in June, and the last date for application has also been extended due the lockdown in India, imposed by the Government to tackle Covid -19. Most of the top law colleges of the country, such as AP Goyal Shimla University or APGSU also have their own entrance examinations to determine the eligibility of students who are applying to their colleges. Students may choose to not sit for the common test and rather choose to apply to colleges of their choice and sit only for the entrance test of the college. APGSU also allows students of law to seek direct admission, but that is subject to both availability and eligibility, students with higher CLAT scores and students who have sat for the entrance test by the college are given preference. Students from different backgrounds such as arts and commerce may apply to law courses based on their background which helps in removing competition and increases chances of eligibility. agu.edu.in/bachelor-of-law/
