There was no Cure the people could do nothing to prevent it. They did not have the knowledge to know what was happening. They tried to prevent it by burning aromatic herbs and wood, spreading flowers, rosewater and vinegar around there homes. They tried to avoid breathing in germs. Sitting next to a fire (priests would sit throughout summer in front of a fire) They would cut of there house and prevent wind from entering and they would attack foreigners or people from a different religion.

· Some people use to place a live hen next to the victim which was supposed to suck out of the buboes.

· Some were told to drink their own urine twice a day.

· Some were told to drink a mixture of ale, crushed marigold flower petals, leaves, crushed egg shell and treacle every day.

· Some were told to put a toad on their buboes.

· Some were told to put leaches on their buboes which actually worked.

There weren't any when the black plague began to spread. The medieval people tried many cures some of them were: Blood letting, killing Jews ( i don't know how that was a cure i think they just wanted to blame somebody, both the Muslims and the Christan's hated the Jews because they thought the Jews killed Jesus and they thought the Jews poisoned the water).public baths, pilgrimage's, applying leeches, emulate sweet smelling fires, repents, eat drink and be merry, flagellation, dried toad and feciese (they must have been getting desperate)

Antibiotics are most commonly used as treatment for the disease, and are effective in 85 percent of cases. If a person does develop the disease, early plague treatment offers the best chance for recovery.

-----

There were no effective treatments during the Middle Ages. The first cures for Bubonic Plague (Black Death) were antibiotics discovered in the 20th century.
