that's what I want to know
After training both men and women took a physical and skills test. If they passed, they were considered a citizen & if not, they were considered a perioikos, a member of the middle class.
Men were allowed to be citizens in Athens and in Sparta.
Both
?
men-to strengthen the army women-to defend the city while men were at war
in Sparta were only free men citizens?
Because Sparta was focused soley around thier military
Women weren't considered citizens (only men were).
Only the Citizens who are at least 18 years old may vote. That includes Jewish men and women who are citizens, Muslim men and women who are citizens, Christian men and women who are citizens, Druze men and women who are citizens, Arab/Palestinian men and women who are citizens, and any other men or women of any religion or national origin who are citizens. But the law is very restrictive ... they have to be 18 years old.
only men could be a citizen :) lol
Spartan male citizens exclusively trained for war, according to sources. Farming and craftworking was largely left to women and subservient or allied populations.
Men and women over the age of 16 were considered citizens; only property-owning men could be citizens.
only sparta.
Sparta was ruled by only a few of its men, but Athens was ruled by all of its male citizens.
No, only Adult men were considered citizens.
No. Sparta didn't grant citizenship to very many men, either.
