Schizophrenia (pronounced skitz-o-fren-ea, just so you know) is a mental disorder that makes people 'lose contact with reality'. They start to live in a fantasy world, making up different characters and the plot line with them as the star. A schizophrenic can live amongst people without this condition for a time, even get married and have children before someone notices, but eventually people do notice.

If someone with depression always feels sad and tired, but does not act that way because he or she is afraid of others judging, then that person may realize that he or she has a mental disorder before others do.
