I have seen the following dates for the Middle Ages:
476 to 1453
476 to 1492
400 to 1400
500 to 1500
I have not seen 600 to 1500, but I have never seen a law saying it was wrong to believe such a thing.
Personally, I would use 380 to 1517, but I seem to be the only one with that opinion.
