∙ 15y agoMuslim festivals go by the lunar calendar - like Judaism - not the solar. If there is a festival which happens to fall in December on one year, it may not the next year. Generally, the two holidays ( breaking the fast and the end of the pilgrimage ) come about eleven days 'earlier' every year. That is because the lunar calendar year is shorter than the solar one by about eleven days.
