What? It should. At least that is what my 2007 Escape XLT does. A buddy of mine, his mom has a 2003, and her mileage screen turns off every time. Plus, with the mileage screen staying on like that, it could drain your battery. I would get that checked out if I were you.

Well....are you sure that you did the procedure correct? usually if it says not confirmed the process was not performed correct. with all the doors closed and the i.c. at the milage screen, turn key to position 1 and press the "R" reset button 3 times fast. this will access the service menu where you can then re-set the counter/service. Just selected "full service" and confirm, hope that helps!
